Tired Mama

So right before I posted this, my entire first paragraph somehow deleted. So I am not just tired now, I am annoyed. (Lol)
....
Today, I am tired. My son has not been sleeping well since the start of the new year. My daughter has the craziest energy that I have EVER seen. My dogs are good however, we just got a couple of feet of snow and they are Texas dogs- so, to get them to go outside to the bathroom is not fun. I am breastfeeding and pumping, that alone literally and figuratively drains you. My husband and I work hard and have a household to take care of. We are so damn tired.
Staying Calm
What calms me is that at the end of the night I can look at every being in my household with a smile and feel how lucky I truly am. That feeling is what lets me know that it's ok to be tired. It's ok to be cranky. It's ok to have a messy house. It's ok to (figuratively speaking) hit that wall where you just can't do anymore and you have to sit down. If sacrificing laundry for a few days means my husband and I get to spend more time together with the kids and dogs, then hell it's worth it.
Ignoring the Comments
I've learned that people forget. I've learned that people are ignorant. Because I've learned those things, I have been able to ignore the comments. C'mon, you know the comments... When someone comes to your house and has to make a remark such as:
Wow- you can really tell this is a kid house
Seriously? Those grocery bags are still sitting there?
Can't you just hire someone to take care of that?
Did you finish that house project yet?
...the list can go on and on
Do You
Today, I am tired. That doesn't mean I am not ok. I am ok and I am very happy with my life. I am just exhausted. I know there are millions of mamas (and dads) in the same boat. So, I am going to just continue to do me. I am going to start dinner late so that I can spend some time playing with my kids when they get home from daycare. I am going to get to the laundry eventually and temporarily live out of laundry baskets if I have to. I am going to stay up late so that my husband and I can have alone time. I am going to take a short break from work during the day to walk my dogs and snuggle them.
So today, you're tired. You've hit a wall. Just do you because you're a parent, a husband or a wife but first of all you're human.
